How do I...?

Description

With the advances that the SPB system builder is bringing in terms of creating systems we have identified a need for the Grey Horse Bot to become more flexible in its ability to follow along side the complex systems that it allows us to create.

So the decision was made to create a new version of the grey horse bot that is designed from the ground up specifically to run systems from the system builder. The Grey Horse Bot Mini is still the same rock solid engine, the controls have been simplified to accommodate the level of control the system builder has.. which in turn has allowed us to add some pretty cool new features in this version.

So whats different ?
We have tried to keep the main interface as familiar as possible, you will notice most of the important controls such as stop limits and stake values remain the same so I will not bore you with those details..

If you are new to Grey Horse Bot and want to learn about using the stop limits and stake values the main help index has all this information here

The good stuff!
below is a list of the features we have added and/or improved and some details about how to use them.

Improved Main Market Display
Each race now has an expand tree which will allow you to see the horses your system has selected for that race

{image here}

It will also record the matched prices and also update with the current trading price each time you expand.

Improved Profit/Loss Report Screen
The profit/loss report screen will now retain the full profit/loss report history for that specific bot even after closing down/turning off the PC. This allows you a quick overview of your bots past results.. this is great when you are using the bot to follow a system over a long period of time.

You can export to a .csv file or clear the log by clicking the clear button

Bank Balance to use
On the session tab you can now set the amount you wish to use as your bank balance, This needs to be set before you start your first session with the bot.

You can set it to mirror your betfair bank, or set aside an amount of your betfair bank to use.

Name that bot/ Local time zone
You can now give each bot its own name.. when running multiple systems it's easy to lose track of which bot is running which system.. not any more!

You can now also set the bot to follow your local time zone settings. This means that if you are outside of the UK the bot will download and list races in your own timezone which takes away the need to adjust your PC clock settings. To show them in your local time tick the box , to show them in UTC ( GMT) untick the box.

Bet placement

The bot has 2 different ways of placing bets. This is controlled by information that you send to it from the SPB system builder, or PR ratings.

The standard method of betting before the off and submitting a bet into the exchange. You can send a regular bet based on your odds trigger range

Or you can use the system builder/PR to control additional parameters such as..

- Horse rank position in market
- Must be Fav/ Not Fav
- Bet in running
- Horse Rank at betfair SP

These can be chosen in the system builder and sent to the bot with your selections. For more about this check out the video here.

In Play SP betting

When you send a BSP command to the bot from the system builder. The bot will look at the market in rank order when BSP is declared. so for example

If you have a system in the system builder or PR ratings that is based on the BSP position of a horse.  the bot can pull this over in the tips link, and then only bet on that horse if it is 1st or 2nd ranked in the BSP price order.

The bet is then placed in running, It is not using the BSP system,  it sends the bet in running in order to get you as close as possible to the BSP price.
