I finally finished off all the insulation in the loft over the weekend...

...As well as a few other jobs around the house.

The new battery in the shed is up and running as well...

...And soaking up all the solar it can get :-)

I had an interesting email from a FHG/LTD user over the weekend.

"I started on 1st January, laying the highest scoring daily LTD selection. I set a bank of £70 and am laying to 5% of the bank on an accumulating basis.

When I hit a loser, I stick with the stake on that trade going forward until my loss is recovered, then start the 5% of the bank again.

For me, protecting your bank is the prime objective, so this approach works for me in terms of a risk/reward balance."

He went on to say...

"I'm impressed so far! After today (60 days) there have been 58 trades (match postponed or abandoned on 2 days) resulting in 51 wins and 7 losses.

That's an 87.9% strike rate. Bank now stands at £87.15 which is a 24.5% growth in bank balance.

You ask in your email how I would measure success.

Well, as someone who lays to the method outlined above then it's simply bank growth for me."

He is doing the sensible thing and starting slow and looking at the long game.

He also added...

"Had I put the £70 in a savings account then I could expect about 3 to 4% per annum currently before taxation. With your lays I've achieved  considerably more than that  in just two months."

Now, of course, I would never suggest you gamble with money instead of putting it in the bank...

...But in this case, he is managing his bank and risk to a level he is happy with.

As I always say. If you can have a bit of patience and plan your growth, then anything is possible.

If my selections keep performing, where could he be in another 60 days, 120 or even 365 days?

The "Not for Everyone" lays ended the month with a couple of big losers...

...But it still didn't stop it finishing 100 points in profit.

It was a bit up and down over the weekend...

...so we just have to wait to see what happens next.
