... partly...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I met up with my brother-in-law over the weekend.
He is kind of a scientist with degrees in things that are a bit over my head.
The conversation often ends up talking about the event horizon on black holes or some new paper to describe them.
Although he can still get confused when I start explaining what the Betfair API does :-)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Morning!
I hope you had a good weekend.
Apart from getting out for a ride and some walks I decided to spend some time programming as well.
Bernard keeps pasting these races in the FB group where Betfairs payout on the "Place" market equals 50% or more of the runners left in the race.
Because Betfair does not change the number of runners they pay out on if there is a non-runner...
...You can often have over a 50% chance of picking a runner that will place.
Betfair does use a "Reduction Factor" that will automatically drop the prices of all runners left...
...but how much this will affect the prices depends on the non-runner.
Some may hardly affect the price at all, whereas others (like a current favourite) could affect the prices a lot.
Anyway, to get to the point it can be quite difficult to keep watching all the races looking for a market that meets the criteria.
It could be a 4 TPB race where there are 8 or fewer runners in it...
...Or 2 TBP where there are 4 or fewer runners left.
Over the weekend, I worked on an "Alert" program that will monitor all the races and list any that meet this criteria.
I haven't quite finished, but I hope to drop something into the Greyhorse Bot members area for you to try within the next few days.
The first version will allow you to monitor the races and see the runners...
...But the next version should allow you to bet directly from the software.
That may take a bit longer but at least at first, you see the races that Bernard is always trying to post in time for you to take advantage of them.
I will let you know when the first version is available.
