...A favourite isn't a favourite...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We are thinking of hitting the Ridgeway this morning and going for a few hour's walk.
We are just looking at the trail and where we fancy picking it up.
There are quite a few sections we haven't done so we will probably find one that looks like it could be fun.
Or at least quite dry :-)

Morning!
As it is Saturday I won't keep you long.
I have been running this Favourites "Lay" system which I opened up and closed a couple of weeks ago.
Up until yesterday, the official results were showing 10 winners in a row...
...But my bot has had 16 in a row since the last loser!
The official results are based on the BSP favourite but the bot results are taken 10 seconds before the official off time.
Looking over some of the selections I have had that were not in the official results...
...it is clear that both the systems selections and the eventual favourite, prices were close before the off.
What I think it shows, is there are more races than you may think, where there is more than one runner that could be the favourite.
BSP itself can be enough to change the order of the favourite depending on the amount of money available to create the SP prices and ranks.
Once all the money available is matched it can easily move the price one way or the other.
You may want to take this into account if you are creating a system that selects a runner based on BSP rank.
From what I have seen you are going to get some variance from the official results.
in my case, it has been positive with 6 more winners...
...But it could go the other way as well.
Anyway, I just thought I would let you know what I have found and to be aware of it when testing your systems.
