We are going to have a walking weekend so we can get away from the shopping crowd and instead relax in the country.

Well, that is as long as the weather doesn't change and we end up with a storm or torrential rain :-)

Yesterday I got talking about Accumulars or "Accas" as they are often referred to.

Just a recap this is how you could play one.

Bet 1. 1 point @ a price of 1.89. Win 0.86 (after commission)

Bet 2. 1.86 points @ a price of 1.89. Win 1.57 (after commission)

Bet 3. 2.43 points @  a price of 1.89. Win 2.05 (after commission)

Total winnings 0.86 + 1.57 + 2.05 = 4.48

The thing is we think of Accas as straight bets when there are a lot of ways you can create them.

You know that thing where I am always telling you about...

...that if you could make 1 point a day and compound 10% of the winnings onto your next day's stake?

If you could do this for say 100 days you could take a £1 stake to £100 stake.

Well, 2 x 1.5 Accas could make 1 point.

Yeah, so instead of looking around for bigger-priced winners, you just need ways to return around 50% of your stake over 2 bets.

If you think about it, you could also do this using a Dutch, lay (or lay and trade) even the TBP markets.

You don't even have to do it over two selections because if you dropped down to a price of 1.3 or 1.4 then it just adds one more bet to the Acca.

That means you could take on selections where you have a much higher chance of success.

On the other side, I have been using it with lays.

Now your liability is a lot higher but on the rare occasion it goes against me I trade out...

... This means that I tend to trade out for 1 to 2 points lost.

You need to be in a market that is quite predictable and gives you a chance to make an exit...

...So football is a good example.
