I have to change my plans this weekend.

My mum went into hospital with an infection yesterday so I am waiting to hear how she is.

It's not life-threatening or anything, but I suppose at 92, anything can turn bad quickly.

So I will be making the trip to see her :-)

As it is Saturday, I won't keep you long.

A bit of a mix bag on the "Place" selections that I posted in the FB group yesterday...

...But my * selection came 3rd at a price of 2.84 (in a 4TBP)!

He was looking like winning the race, but he had a bad last jump, but the Jockey managed to stay in the saddle.

I think that is my best-priced win yet :-)

One of the things I have been doing is taking notes because often things come up that you have no idea how they may affect the outcome.

Yesterday, there were a couple of "Up in Class" which I wasn't sure about and both actually lost.

Taking notes is crucial for an idea like this because it means you can not only look back and see if there are any patterns...

...It also reinforces in your mind what looks like a good selection.

I know many people reading this email prefer automated betting, but if you want to learn to select your own runners, then taking notes is imperative.

I am also trying to figure out the best ones to lay.

I picked two yesterday, but only one ran and actually came 2nd, so it was a lay loser.

14:10 Font Shuil Ceoil 3 TBP 1.52 2nd

I think 1.52 is probably too high for this idea, and I really want to find ones at a lower price.

On looking at my notes again, I think I should have chosen...

14:00 Weth All Well And Good 4TPB Lost 1.15
